Push the Sauté or Browning button on your Pressure Cooker.
Add ketchup, liquid smoke, brown sugar, onion and garlic to your Pressure Cooker cooking pot.
Stir until sauce starts to thicken, about five minutes.
Turn Pressure Cooker off.
Add the water and the rest of the ingredients. Carefully add the wings and mix into the sauce.
Lock on the lid and Close the Pressure Valve. Cook on High Pressure for 5 minutes.
When Beep sounds, do a Quick Release.
With Tongs, carefully remove Wings to Air Fryer Basket or a Cookie Sheet, lined with foil or silicone mat.
Turn the Pressure Cooker to Sauté or Browning and allow sauce to thicken while the wings are crisping in the Air Fryer or Oven.
Air Fryer Method
Place basket of wings into air fryer and set temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes.
When Beep is heard, remove the basket from the air fryer and dunk wings into the thickened sauce.
Return the wings to the Air Fryer and set temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes.
Place any extra sauce into a bowl and use for dipping.
Oven Method
Turn the oven on to broil and place a rack in the middle of the oven.
Place wings in the oven and broil for five minutes on each side.
Remove wings from the oven and slather on the Honey Bourbon BBQ sauce.
Place the wings back into the oven and broil for five minutes on each side,
Place any extra sauce into a bowl and use for dipping.
Using Mealthy Crisplid
After sauce is thickened, unplug Instant Pot and place chicken wings into Crisplid basket. Remove sauce to a bowl.
Place tall trivet into cooking pot and place basket of wings on top.
Slather wings with sauce.
Place Crisplid on top of pressure cooker and plug in. Set temperature to 400 degrees and set time for 5 minutes.
Watch through the clear glass lid and when wings are to your liking, remove lid, flip wings and crisp up next side.
Notes
If you don't feel like making a homemade Barbecue sauce, use a bottle of your favorite Barbecue Sauce instead. Add a cup of water to your Pressure Cooker cooking pot and place in a steamer basket full of wings. Cook for 5 minutes, then transfer to the Air Fryer and cook according to Air Fryer Directions, slathering with bottled BBQ Sauce, instead of the Honey Bourbon Sauce.
