Pressure Cooker Lokshen Mit Kaese {Jewish Noodles & Cheese}

Pressure Cooker Lokshen Mit Kaese {Noodles and Cheese} is a dish many Jewish kids enjoyed growing up.  It is a simple comfort type recipe.

  • 1 pound Elbow Macaroni (or Egg Noodles)
  • 3.5-4 cups Fresh Water
  • 1 pound Pot Cheese (Farmer, Ricotta, Cottage Cheese)
  • 2 Tablespoons Sour Cream optional

  • Add Pasta and Salt to Pressure Cooker cooking pot and cover with Fresh Water.
  • Lock on Lid and close Pressure Valve.  Cook at High Pressure for 2 minutes. (see Notes).  When Beep sounds, wait 5 minutes and then slowly toggle the Pressure Value to release the pressure.
  • Remove lid and Select Saute/Browning.  Mix in Pot Cheese and either Sugar/Cinnamon or Salt/Pepper and cook until Cheese becomes stringy.  Add Sour Cream, if you like.


Look at the cook time on the package of pasta/noodles.
Choose the lesser time option in the range given and then subtract 2-3 minutes.  That is your cook time.
