My “Inner Pot” seems to be oxidized right from the beginning. It’s not a stainless steel like the ones you show. Not sure if that is normal. Also looking to purchase a rack for baking. Which do you recommend for the XL PP?

Still working on improving my yogurt. I am interested in the EuroCuisine strainer. I see two models above. Is the difference that one is stainless steel and one some sort of mesh that tears? I will probably order the SS, but wanted to check on the differences since one is somewhat cheaper. Thanks!

I was wondering about the stackable steamer baskets. Are these used for only steaming, or for pressure cooking too? Sorry if this is a silly question, I’m very new to the IP
Hi Colette. The stackable baskets are for pressure cooking. I use them for pot in pot cooking too, especially rice on top of a main course. Jill

When ordering over the TV I thought I was getting more items with this cooker.
I’m disappoint that the rack for canning was not with it.
Canning cannot be safely done in the Instant pot.
That depends on which version you have. Some of them you are able to do canning in.

Are all these used for the power cooker? I have a 10 qt …..dont think the glass lid for instapot would fit. Maybe just a glass lid that fits?
Miranda, everything will fit the 10 quart, but for the glass lid, you need to use one for that size. The ones shown are for the 6 and 8 quart pots. You could measure the width of your pot and then search for a lid to fit. Jill
I have the IP DUO60 ENW 9-1 and am looking for the most useful accessories. I have two of these IP’s, one for home and one for our motorcoach. The IP’s you list do snot include the ip’s I have.

I bought an 8″ springform pan for my 6 qt Instant Pot and it fits, but I wonder if it will not allow enough room for steam and if it will cook correctly. Have you used an 8″?

Steam is a tricky little thing. It finds its way through the smallest of spaces. While 6-7 inches is ideal in a 6 quart, an 8 inch will work well too, assuming you have a push pan. The spring on the spring form doesn’t fit, I don’t believe. Don’t forget to increase the time when doubling the recipe. Jill

I love that you have listed all of your favorite accessories! I am thinking of buying the 6 quart Instant Pot, and I am wondering what all I need to make the things I know I will make in here, like yogurt, custards and puddings, steamed veggies and rice (in addition to the obvious soups and stews and roasts and chickens…it sounds like it can do so many things. Here’s my comment: I would really like to see a personal comment or review of these items from you beside these items, that say something like “this is my favorite set of cups to make creme brulee”, or “these work great for making cheesecake”. The reason I say that is that, of course, I can follow the links and see what Amazon says about them. But you have two or more steamer baskets, and more than one set of custard cups, and two different stackable springform pans. I would like to know what you find as the pros and cons of these items, which would really help me to decide which one to buy for myself. Would that be possible?

Thanks for your comment. If you look though my recipes, you can see what I use all the time. Also, if you check out my list of Kitchen Essentials, those are my most used, so that may help as well. The new Instant Pot DUO Plus is really nice and I would suggest that one over the regular DUO. Jill

The set is used for Pot in Pot cooking. The big pan is great for making rice on top of a main course, baking cakes, custard. The small pans are good for custards and mini cakes.

How do you get the handles off the RSVP Stainless Steel Strainer Basket (remove handles)???

Use a pliers or your fingers and just wiggle them, until the pop off.

Shelly, my handles were too hard to get off, so I put the handle in a vice on my husband’s workbench and slowly bent the handle straight up by pulling down – gently – on the basket. I love this solution because the basket still fits in the pot, was NOT damaged and now I have handles to use to get the basket out of the Instant Pot (with those little silicone mitts)! I actually PREFER my solution.

I am told that it does, but have not tried it myself. My 6 quart stainless steel IP cooking pot fits my other brands of Pressure Cookers. I think they are standard.
