Exciting news! Instant Brands has just released their Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid, which turns many 6 quart Instant Pots into an air fryer!

Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid

Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid

The Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid seems to function very similar to the lid that comes with the Instant Pot DUO Crisp Air Fryer Pressure Cooker, except that you will have to plug this lid into a wall outlet.

If it shows out of stock, you can still order and it will ship once restocked.

Roast a Chicken, Bake a Casserole

Roast a Chicken, Bake a Casserole

Roast a whole chicken using the Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid, or first pressure cook the chicken and then use the lid to make the skin perfectly crispy. My Instant Pot Pesto Chicken first cooks in the pressure cooker and then the air fryer lid will cause the cheese to brown and bubble. Imaging making and Instant Pot BBQ Pork Spare Ribs [Baby Back/St. Louis] in the pressure cooker and then caramelizing the barbecue sauce right in the pot with the air fryer lid? Perfectly succulent and delicious ribs in about 40 minutes!

Use as Stand Alone Air Fryer

Use as Stand Alone Air Fryer

Use the Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid to make Air Fryer Rib Eye Steak with Blue Cheese Butter or Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings the same way you would using a regular stand alone air fryer like the Ultrean 8.5 Quart Air Fryer. The basket is very deep, so you can cook for your whole family.

Delicious Recipes to Make with the Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid

  • Air Fryer Garlic Mushrooms Low Carb Keto
  • How about a very simple Grilled American Cheese Sandwich using the broiling tray!
  • Air Fryer French Fries are so much better than trying to bake them in the oven.

There are thousands of more uses for using just the air fryer lid. The innovative “even crisp” technology ensures crispy crunchy food and a beautiful golden finish.

6 Separate Functions

6 Separate Functions

There are six buttons, which perform different functions.

Functions of Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid

  • Air Fry
  • Broil
  • Bake
  • Roast
  • Reheat
  • Dehydrate

The functions let you use the lid as an air fryer and also expand your Instant Pot Pressure Cooker’s capabilities. No need to remove a casserole from the Instant Pot and put it in the oven to brown the top!

Pressure Cook and then Crisp

Pressure Cook and then Crisp

The Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Lid fits nicely on all 6 quart pressure cookers. So, if you are making my fully loaded Instant Pot Macaroni and Cheese, first use the pressure cooker for the macaroni and then switch to the air frying lid to brown the Crispy Bacon Garlic Breadcrumb Topping right in your 6 quart Instant Pot.

My Instant Pot Poor Man’s Burnt Ends is a perfect example of how to cook very tough meat quickly and then caramelize the meat with the crisping lid.

What Comes in the Box

What Comes in the Box

Besides the air fryer lid, you get a protective pad to place the hot Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid after using so you don’t damage your counters. When cooled, it acts as a storage cover.

You get a multi-level air fryer basket, so you can cook large amounts of food at once.

A dehydrating and broiling tray is great for making treats like fruit roll ups and to quickly toast a bagel or make my easy Air Fryer 6 Minute Pita Bread Cheese Pizza.

Looks like a Broiler

Looks like a Broiler

It is basically like bringing your oven and broiler right into your Instant Pot Multi-Cooker!

Specifications

  • Power: 1500 watts
  • Minimum Temperature: 125 degrees
  • Maximum Temperature: 400 degrees
  • Weight: 6 pounds

The Air Fryer Lid is compatible with all 6 quart Instant Pot Multi-Cookers, except:

  • Smart WiFi 60
  • Duo Evo Plus 6
  • Duo Evo Plus 60
  • Duo SV 60
  • Max 60

I can’t wait to play around with this brand new air fryer lid and compare to my Mealthy Crisplid.

I was wondering, do you put the basket in the aluminum pot, with or without the basket stand?

It can be done either way, depending on how far you want the heating element to the food. Jill

It doesn’t lock. It rests on top the pot and you’ll hear an up best chime that lets you know it’s placed on it correctly.

I just purchased a Instant Pot Air Fryer lid today and went to cook french fries in it. I wondered the same thing – how to lock on the lid – finally figured out that the lid does not lock on, but a chime sounds when the lid is seated properly, which I did not hear the sound when the Instant Pot fryer started. However, I must have done something right, because the fryer lid did all that was required and my fries turned out perfect. When I took the lid off it sounded, so now I know what to listen to – lol ! I am going to have fun this summer, figuring out ways to create tasty treats – what is so awesome, is that when the fries were cooking, my entire condo smelled like I was at the State fair, with that fried food smell. I loved that !

Yes, it would. Here are two links to buy. The first is through Mealth Buy Here at Mealthy. The second one is on Amazon Buy from Amazon. This is good for both 6 and 8 court pressure cookers! Jill

Looking at your recommendations for the air fryer I have a instant pot does the instant crisp lid work as good as the air fryer?

They are two different animals. I use my air fryer daily. The lid I use more for when I want to finish off something I have pressure cooked. That being said, the lid does work really well as an air fryer. Jill

Is it possible to buy the 8 qt air fryer lid for the instant pot separately? I only see it being sold as a package WITH the entire instant pot unit. I already have 8 qt instant pot unit and I don’t want another one, so I’m just looking for the air fryer part. Thanks in advance!

I just purchased the Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus 6-quart and having a hard time determining if the air fryer lid will be compatible. Per the Instant Pot website, it looks as though it may not be, but it’s a bit confusing. Any suggestions? Lastly – if it is not compatible, then what are your recommendations for ability to air fry?

I just received the airfryer lid and excited to use it. I’m confused on when/how to use the Broil Tray. For example, to Broil, it says ‘Air Fryer Basket, on Broil Tray’ . Does that mean you would put the air fryer basket in the instant pot, then the Broil Tray, then the food? The other instructions are equally confusing to me and I read them several times. Thanks for your help!

Which would be a better choice? The Mealthy or Instant Pot air fryer lid? If you had a choice, which would you choose? Please give pro’s and con’s of both.

It is a toss up. The Instant Pot version has a deeper basket, but the overall size of the lid is very large. The Mealthy has a smaller basket, but the lid takes up less room. They work about the same. What will you use it for? An air fryer mostly or as an accessory to your pressure cooking recipes? Jill

Yes, I agree, but I believe they did it this way since they came out with a two-in-one and the lid is probably for those with the older models. Jill
