Why Another Hard Boiled Eggs Recipe?

- However, we love eggs for snacking and for packing for trips and don’t want to worry about egg shells. That just ruins a good snack!
- This recipe for Instant Pot NO PEEL Hard Boiled Eggs will blow your mind and you’re not going to be able to live without this super cool method. Your have been forewarned. 🙂
Ingredients for Instant Pot No Peel Hard Boiled Eggs
- Eggs, hehehe, what did you think!!!
- Oil for greasing egg bite trays
Which Egg Bites Mold to Use
- There are several brands and types of what is now being called “egg bites trays or molds.” The design just keeps getting better and better.
- My current favorite egg bites tray is this one by Salbree. They’ve added a built in trivet and handles, making using this tray very easy. Plus, the quality of the silicone tray and the lid is nice AND the lid snaps into place.
If you have an egg bites tray without the trivet like this, it is not an issue. You’ll just need to use a separate trivet.
Did you see what I did there? Well? Grease the tray wells? Grease the well of the tray. Okay, so not terribly funny, but hey, I tried.
What Oil is Best for Instant Pot No Peel hard Boiled Eggs
There really isn’t a best oil to use. I like to use coconut oil when I make eggs. The flavor is subtle and doesn’t interfere. A basting brush or a wadded up paper towel makes applying the oil easy.
The egg bite trays can also be spayed with your favorite oil. I use a Olive Oil Sprayer / Mister for Cooking for spraying.
Why Make Instant Pot No Peel Hard Boiled Eggs
- There is no worry about the eggs cracking during cooking since the shells are removed.
- The eggs can be seasoned prior too cooking, so that when you meal prep, you don’t need to remember to add salt, pepper or This Old Gal (“TOG”) House Seasoning to the lunch box!
- Best of all, you don’t need to peel your eggs before eating!
Pro Tip: The quality and thickness of the various brands of silicone egg bite trays are different and you may need to adjust the cooking time for your particular model.
How Many Eggs Can Be Made At Once?
- You can make one egg only. Or fill the mold and make all seven.
- Stack the egg bite trays to make 14.

If using an egg bite tray without attached trivet and handles, you’ll need to use a stainless steel trivet instead.
The Color of the Yolk
- You will want to determine if you prefer the egg yolk to be totally pale yellow, indicating a fully cooked yolk or a yolk with a bit of brightness, which make a creamier texture.
- We like ours a bit less cooked. Check out the video so you can see how we like the yolk from the no peel hard boiled eggs.
Pro Tip: The desired color of yolk depends on the pressure release time. The longer the eggs sit in the pot, the more cooked they become.
The photo above was taken from our video below, so you can see the color of the egg yolks in real time and see that the photo was not touched up at all. There is absolutely no green ring around the eggs.
